    Guadalupe Martinez

    February 22, 1935 - January 23, 2022

    Guadalupe Martinez, age 86 of Houston entered into eternal rest on January 23, 2022. Guadalupe Martinez, better known as Welo by his family, was born on February 22, 1935 in San Fernando, Tamaulipas, Mexico to Guadalupe Vazquez. He's been married to his wife, Victoria Martinez for close to 60 years. As a young adult he enjoyed working on cars and became a diesel mechanic for many years. After his retirement his favorite pastime was being outside planting anything from fruit trees to veggies. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, great-grandkids and let's not forget about his 3 grand-dogs, 2 grand-ducks and grand-cat. The last couple of years he has enjoyed traveling to places he had never been before. He will truly be missed not only by his immediate family but by lots of nephews, nieces and friends. Guadalupe is preceded in death by Mother, Guadalupe Vazquez, Son, Jose A. Martinez, Sister, Matilde Rodriguez, Brother, Manuel Vazquez and Brother, Luis Vazquez. He is survived by Wife, Victoria Martinez; Sister, Alicia V. Moreno; Daughter, Gabby Martinez; Grandson, Joshua Martinez; Three Granddaughters, Emily Martinez, Sarah Martinez, Leia A. Mitchell & husband Justin Mitchell. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 27, 2022, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Felix H. Morales Funeral Home, Houston, Texas with a Rosary beginning at 6:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022, 10:00 am at Felix H. Morales Funeral Home. Rite of Committal will follow at San Jacinto Memorial Park Cemetery. Guadalupe Martínez, mejor conocido como Welo por su familia, nació el 22 de febrero de 1935 en San Fernando, Tamaulipas, México de Guadalupe Vazquez. Ha estado casado con su esposa, Victoria Martínez por cerca de 60 años. Como joven adulto , disfrutaba trabajando en automóviles y se convirtió en mecánico diesel durante muchos años. Después de jubilarse, su pasatiempo favorito era estar al aire libre plantando cualquier cosa, desde árboles frutales hasta verduras. Disfrutaba pasar tiempo con sus nietos, bisnietos y no nos olvidemos de sus 3 nietos-perros, 2 nietos-patos y su nieto-gato. El último par de años disfrutado viajar a lugares en los que nunca había estado antes. Realmente será extrañado no solo por su familia inmediata, sino también por muchos sobrinos, sobrinas y amigos. Guadalupe es precedido en la muerte por su Madre, Guadalupe Vazquez, Hijo, Jose A. Martínez, Hermana, Matilde Rodríguez, Hermano, Manuel Vazquez y Hermano, Luis Vazquez. Le sobreviven su Esposa, Victoria Martinez; Hermana, Alicia V. Moreno; Hija, Gabby Martínez; Nieto, Joshua Martínez; Tres Nietas, Emily Martinez, Sarah Martinez, Leia A. Mitchell y su esposo Justin Mitchell. El velorio se llevará a cabo el jueves 27 de enero de 2022, de 3:00 p. m. a 8:00 p. m. en Felix H. Morales Funeral Home, Houston, Texas, con un rosario que comenzará a las 6:00 p.m. Se llevará a cabo un servicio funerario el viernes 28 de enero de 2022 a las 10:00 am en Felix H. Morales Funeral Home. El sepelio seguirá en el cementerio del parque conmemorativo de San Jacinto. Las personas con mayor riesgo, enfermas o que no se sienten bien no deben asistir al servicio.
