Elia Fernandez Rodriguez, who loved her children and grandchildren more than anything else in the world, departed her loving family on February 6, 2022. She was 79. Elia was born in La Hacienda La Union, Nuevo Leon, Mexico on December 20, 1942 to Antonio Fernandez Guerrero and Adela Rodriguez Lozano. She was raised in Mexico until she was a pre-teen, when her family immigrated to Houston, Texas. She and her family lived in the historic Montrose neighborhood. Elia was mother to four children and 12 grandchildren. She raised her children with love and devotion in the Houston Heights with her husband Jose Miguel Rodriguez de Alejandro. As a business owner of a drapery company, Elia was known for her incredible dedication and work ethic. Her hobbies included playing Loteria and Bingo, caring for her plants and flowers, and most of all, cooking and spending time with her family. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Jose Miguel and her siblings Heriberto Fernandez Rodriguez and Maria Elisa Fernandez de Cortina. She is survived by her children, Adela Rodriguez, Jose Miguel Rodriguez, Jr., Elia Margarita and husband Noah Quiles, and Vanessa Angela and husband Raymond Garcia; and Grandchildren Jose Miguel Rodriguez, III, Roberto Rene Rodriguez, Miguel Antonio Rodriguez, Raymundo Chapa, Giselia Bermudez, Raelyn Garcia, Angel Francisco Meza, Jr., Noah Rex Quiles, Isabella Quiles, Raymond Garcia, Jr., Miabella Rodriguez, and Madelyn Rayne Garcia. Aside from the children and grandchildren she doted on, Elia is survived by her brother Enrique Fernandez Rodriguez; sister Elda Fernandez de Gutierrez; and many loving in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services will be held at Morales Funeral Home on February 14, 2022 at 9 am, followed by interment at 12:30 pm at Hollywood Cemetery. Aparte de los hijos y nietos a los que adoraba, a Elia la sobreviven su hermano Enrique Fernandez Rodríguez; hermana Elda Fernandez de Gutierrez; y muchos amados suegros, primos, sobrinas, sobrinos y amigos.
