Domingo Vela Silva, 82, passed away peacefully at home alongside his family on May 27, 2021. Domingo was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He retired from Mrs. Baird's Bakery after 48 years, while never missing a day of work. Domingo's work ethic and strong desire to take care of his family led him to spend endless hours to ensure everyone had what they needed to be happy. Domingo married Alicia Silva on October 4, 1964. Their marriage of 56 years was filled with never-ending love and happiness. Domingo loved western movies, orange sherbet, ice cream sundaes, and cheese enchiladas. He never missed the chance to hit the piñata at every birthday party. Domingo Silva was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His passion was his work and family. We will always remember him for his dancing, humorous jokes, laughing, selfless personality, and an unforgettable loving smile. Domingo is preceded in death by Father, Vincent Silva, Mother, Jesusa Vela Silva, and Sister, Lucia Silva San Miguel. He is survived by Wife, Alicia Garza Silva; Daughters, Sandra Silva Villarin and husband David Villarin, Patricia Ann Castro and husband Timothy James Castro, DeAnn Perez and husband Ruben Perez; Granddaughters, Casandra Lynn Villarin, Kelley Lee Huerta and husband Ricardo Huerta, Lisa Briane Villarin and fiancé Cesar Ivan Rosales, Sabrina Ann Aguilar and fiancé Christian Jimenez; Grandsons, David Michael Villarin, Michael Christopher Gosdigion and fiancée Clarissa Elaine Castañeda, Gregory Garo Gosdigian, Pablo Antonio Aguilar; Great-grandsons, Isaac Noel Villarin, Anthony Cesar Villarin; Great-granddaughters, Madelyn Sophia Huerta, Eliana Arpi Gosdigian, and Alicia Grace Huerta. Visitation will be held Monday, June 7, 2021, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Felix H. Morales Funeral Home, Houston, Texas with a Rosary beginning at 6:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, 11:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow at Brookside Cemetery. For the safety of all guests, gatherings at our facility will be limited to 80 family members and guests. Individuals at increased risk, sick or not feeling well should not attend the service.
