Antonio Moreno Peña entered eternal rest on July 16, 2022 at the age of 83. He was born on September 19, 1938 to Encarnacion and Martina Peña in Tynan, Texas but later raised in Mathis, TX. Antonio was the first of his family to move to Houston in 1958 to pursure job opportunities not readily available in Mathis. He worked at the US Postal Service for 37 years and retired in 2003. Antonio was a devoted family man who welcomed anyone into his home, often providing shelter for those in need, and never expected anything in return. He instilled a great work ethic in all his children/grandchildren and emphasized the importance of always doing your best no matter what position you held at the company. Antonio was a simple man described by many as generous, smart, caring, and loving. One of the fondest memories was going out to eat to Pizza Hut or him coming home with Italian Po-boys on paydays. He leaves behind an empty void that can not be replaced. He is survived by his wife, Amelia Ramirez Peña of almost 63 years; children Esther Peña, Priscilla Peña, Meriam (Frank II) Amaro, Francisco aka Kiko (Cynthia) Peña, Merari Peña and Antonio Peña aka Landrew; grandchildren Amelia aka Missy (Paul) Quizon, Erica Mendoza, Gilbert Torres, Omega (Gabriel) Rodriguez, Amanda Amaro, Frank Amaro III, Macie (Ryan) Theiss, Denice (David) Aguilar, Waverlie Peña, Kyrie Peña, Anthony Amaro and Mizlowe Peña; great-grandchildren Isaiah & Jordan Amaro, Giovanni & Lucas Quizon, Christian Acosta & Morgan Torres, Gabriella, Madelyn, & Mariana Rodriguez, Mackenzie & Makayla Amaro, and Sonny Theiss; siblings Adrian, Roy, Chris and Hector Peña, Adelida Davila and Florinda Arellano. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Antonio is preceded in death by his parents Encarnacion and Martina Peña, sister Lidia Delgado, brother Joe Peña, son Abel Peña, and daughter Caroline Peña. Visitation will be held Friday, July 29, 2022, 9:00 am - 11:30 am at Felix H. Morales Funeral Home, Houston, Texas. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022, 10:30 am at Felix H. Morales Funeral Home. The Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. Individuals at increased risk, sick or not feeling well should not attend the service.
